A California radio station is being investigated for homicide after a woman died from drinking too much water during a contest. The family of the woman is expected to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the station, whose disc jockeys were "sarcastically sympathetic" to the contestant's complaints of not feeling well. The woman placed second in the contest after drinking nearly two gallons of water, which led to her death from water intoxication.

- Omni Hotel Facing Lawsuit Over Child’s Balcony Fall
A divorced couple is suing Omni Hotel Management Corp. for the death of their 20-month-old son. The couple alleges that Omni should have known that the supports for their balcony railings were spaced too wide apart to prevent young children from slipping through. The hotel contends that the mother was at fault because she was "too busy partying to watch her son."

- E. Coli Lawsuit Filed Against Taco John's
A mother and her son filed a lawsuit against Taco John's after becoming ill from consuming fast food tainted with E. coli. The outbreak in MN affected at least 33 residents who ate at Taco John's. The restaurant chain is still investigating the source of the contamination.

- Lawfirm Faces Sexual Orientation Discrimination Lawsuit
An associate has filed a lawsuit against Sullivan and Cromwell, accusing the law firm of discriminating against him because he is gay. According to the lawsuit, the firm retaliated after the plaintiff filed an internal complaint that resulted in the issuance of a fabricated performance review. The firm denied allegations, claiming the associate had made similar claims in the past that were also denied.
